The Prime Minister follows up with the Minister of Trade and Industry the results of the meetings of the committee to study the challenges facing industrial projects

Madbouly: The industrial sector enjoys great support from the President to localize industry and encourage cooperation with the private sector
At the beginning of the meeting, The Prime Minister affirmed that the industrial sector enjoys great support from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, To localize industry and encourage cooperation with the private sector, This requires the need to intensify efforts to remove the various challenges facing the industry sector.
During the meeting, The Minister of Trade and Industry confirmed that the government has already taken many measures to facilitate investment in the industrial sector in general. expanding the scope of industrial activity, establishing new projects and expanding existing ones; With the aim of increasing the rate of exports and facilitating the investment climate in this vital sector, She clarified in this context that the committee formed to study the challenges facing industrial projects developed several proposed procedures to solve the problems and challenges posed in this sector.
In this context, The Minister indicated that among the recommendations of the Challenges Committee is that the President of the General Authority for Industrial Development provide the Civil Aviation Authority with data on industrial lands related to (coordinate – and attribution), In preparation for issuing the flight approval within 15 working days, Pointing out that the aviation authority was handed the required data.
The procedures proposed by the committee also included that the state authorities submit a complete inventory of industrial lands to the General Authority for Industrial Development. With the use of the capabilities of the Military Survey Department in this file, Pointing out that a coordination meeting has already been held with the Survey Department in this regard.
The minister said: With regard to the decision of the Challenges Committee regarding the establishment of civil protection to standardize the inspection method and the requirements for industrial projects and adherence to the Egyptian Code, A checklist for the fire code for industrial facilities has been prepared to be presented at the next meeting. And the signing of a tripartite protocol between the authority, the Environmental Affairs Agency and the General Administration of Civil Protection in relation to civil protection.
at the same time, The Minister touched on the importance of the Cabinet’s decision to amend a law regarding granting some industrial establishments temporary permits until their conditions are reconciled. As well as approving a draft decision of the Minister of Commerce and Industry to amend some provisions of the executive regulations of the law facilitating procedures for granting licenses for industrial establishments issued by Decree of the Minister of Trade and Industry No. 1082 of 2017. The Minister pointed out that the advantages of amending the law are that it addresses existing factories that do not have operating licenses. The draft law aims to “legitimize” the informal sector and bring it under the umbrella of the state.
The Minister of Commerce and Industry also clarified that with regard to amending the executive regulations of Law 15 of 2017, it aims to amend Article 22 of the regulations, The amendment allows the extension of the period for reconciling the conditions for factories that previously obtained operating licenses and which were unable to reconcile their conditions within the period stipulated in the executive regulations of Law 15 of 2017. It started in 2017 and ended in 2019.
