Nevin Gamea: We are keen to prepare a generation of qualified young people to work in the field of foreign trade and to contribute to the implementation of the plan to double exports.
Nevin Gamea, Minister of Trade and Industry, affirmed the ministry’s keenness to prepare a generation of qualified young people to work in the field of foreign trade, both export and import. With the aim of providing trained and suitable labor for the labor market that meets the needs of Egyptian exporting and importing companies, Which contributes to the implementation of the ministry’s plan to double exports.
This came during the Minister’s chairing of the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Foreign Trade Training Center to discuss the work plan during the next phase, including the strategic objectives. and performance indicators for the center.
The minister said that the center has a pivotal role as the ministry’s arm in qualifying specialized technical cadres in the fields of export and import practice, preparing export specialists and other related fields. She pointed out that the center is closely related to the private sector, as it is the first beneficiary of qualifying cadres working in the field of export and import.

On her part, Mary Kamel , Executive Director of the Foreign Trade Training Center, reviewed,The center’s estimated budget for the year 2022/2023 and the future work plan, which includes the training project A step towards export financed by the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation and in cooperation with the Medium and Small Enterprises Development Authority, And international accreditation for the Export Specialist Preparation Program” from the British Export Institute.
Mary Kamel: The Center implemented 84 training programs during the fiscal year 2021/2022, benefiting 2,225 trainees
Kamel indicated that during the fiscal year 2021/2022, the center implemented about 84 training programs. 2,225 trainees benefited from it, compared to 78 training programs during the previous fiscal year. The Center also expects to implement 94 training programs during the new fiscal year. Pointing out that the center recorded during the last fiscal year a surplus in revenues, which confirms that the center is on the right path despite the challenges it was facing during the past years.
In turn, the members of the Board of Directors, whether representatives of the private sector, export councils or agencies affiliated with the Ministry, affirmed their readiness to provide all possible aspects of support to the Center to restore its role entrusted to it to serve the export and import sectors. Pointing out the importance of linking the outputs of the center’s training programs to the needs of the labor market and focusing on the practical aspect, especially in light of the successive changes witnessed by the global trade movement.
