The procedures begin with a warning for two weeks, then a suspension for a year, followed by delisting for lack of seriousness
Deleting the names of companies that reconciled their positions in a timely manner from the suspension lists and 122 companies that have reconciled their positions since the beginning of the current year until today
Based on the keenness of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to make data and information available in all transparency to public opinion, The Ministry’s media center issued a statement to clarify the facts regarding what was raised in a number of news websites regarding the issuance of decisions to suspend and write off a number of companies exporting to the Egyptian market.
In this context, Ministerial Resolution No. 195 of 2022 was issued last March, which included amending the rules governing the registration of factories qualified to export their products to the Arab Republic of Egypt, and contained in Ministerial Resolution No. 43 of 2016 with the aim of facilitating procedures for companies and setting specific timelines for registration. According to the decision, companies wishing to export to Egypt must renew the documents that have an expiration date within a period not exceeding thirty days from the date of expiry.
The statement indicated that the Factory Registration Unit at the General Organization for Export and Import Control reviews the files submitted by companies for registration, to ensure that the company or factory is an existing entity and applies quality systems to its products. It includes the list of documents that need to be renewed (quality certificates, trademarks and industrial register).
The media center pointed out that in the event of an expired document, a two-week warning will be issued on the authority’s website. If the renewal is not done, the suspension process will be initiated for a period of one year. In the event of non-renewal, the company shall be written off because it is not serious about entering the Egyptian market. Note that the company commissioners are fully aware of these procedures, as they sign declarations to renew all expired documents.
With regard to the names of some of the companies that were included in the list issued by the authority recently, whether suspended or struck off, these companies did not complete the required documents, and then legal measures were taken regarding them in implementation of the rules followed in the registration system. Noting that the Authority deletes the names of companies that reconcile their positions in the first place, As the conditions of 122 companies have been reconciled since the beginning of this year until today.
