Nevin Gameh: The agreement lasts for 5 years and contributes to creating direct communication between businessmen and the Egyptian and German business communities
Nevin Gameh, Minister of Trade and Industry, and Ambassador/ Abdel Aziz Al-Mikhlafi, Secretary General of the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a memorandum of understanding regarding the opening of a regional office for the Chamber in the building of the General Union of Federal Chambers in Cairo. Ambassador Khaled Galal Abdel Hamid, Egypt’s ambassador to Germany, participated in the signing ceremony. Dr. Khaled Hanafy, Secretary General of the Union of Arab Chambers, Minister, Commercial Plenipotentiary, Yahya Al-Wathiq Billah, Head of the Commercial Representation Authority, and Hatem Al-Ashry. Advisor to the Minister for Corporate Communication, Minister of Trade Plenipotentiary Nasser Hamid, Director of the European Department of Commercial Representation, And Minister, Commercial Plenipotentiary Abdel Aziz Al Sharif, Head of the Egyptian Commercial Office in Berlin.
The minister said that this agreement, which will last for five years, comes from the belief of the governments of Egypt and Germany in the importance of cooperation between the private sectors of the two countries and the important role of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in creating direct communication between businessmen and business communities on both sides. She pointed out that the main purpose of opening this office is to represent the Chamber in commercial promotion and economic cooperation between Egypt, the Federal Republic of Germany and the surrounding countries.
Jameh explained that the Chamber will undertake a number of activities in order to achieve its objectives, including communication with the corresponding Egyptian institutions, government agencies and the Egyptian business community to establish communication channels at the commercial and investment levels between the two countries. Arranging and organizing trade and economic missions to and from Germany, and the works related to those visits and missions, In addition to providing services to German-funded companies, And facilitating communication between them, government agencies and the Egyptian business community to strengthen trade and investment relations between these companies and their Egyptian counterparts.
The Minister added that the activities that the Chamber will undertake also include promoting the participation of companies in commercial and economic events, exhibitions and conferences, and communicating with all concerned parties in this regard at the local and regional levels. Contributing to arranging and organizing these events, and share it.
For his part, Ambassador Abdul Aziz Al-Mikhlafi, Secretary-General of the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stressed that the signing of this agreement represents a strong starting point for the Chamber’s activity in the Arab region, especially Egypt, as it is one of the most important trade and economic partners of Germany in the region. He pointed to the interest of major German companies working in the fields of investment and trade in working and cooperating with the Egyptian side.
