Customs officers in the second administration at Customs Building No. 1 at Cairo International Airport headed by Ahmed Mohamed Hemida, Director of Customs, From seizing an attempt to smuggle a quantity of cosmetic tools and cosmetics in violation of the Pharmacy Practice Law No. 127 of 1955, Customs Law No. 207 of 2020 and Import and Export Law No. 118 of 1975.
While completing the inspection procedures for passengers arriving from Bergamoa Airport on an Air Arabia flight, Hassan Sharaf, the customs officer appointed to the customs committee in the international arrival hall, suspected an Egyptian passenger coming from Italy.
When asked if he was carrying goods or things for which he was due to pay tax or customs duties or any other prohibited items, he answered in the negative.
His bags were passed on the X-RAY examination machine with the knowledge of Al-Taher, the examining officer, and Hani Mostafa, the head of the department. They reported the presence of densities in the form of similar boxes.
Mohamed Hamida, the customs director, assigned Amr Shaaban, the director of the movement, and Magdy Ezzat, the customs officer, to inspect the passenger’s luggage, and assigned Mohamed El-Deeb and Mohamed Zayed, the customs officials, to self-inspect the passenger under the supervision of Sami Suleiman, the director of the movement.
The inventory and seizure were carried out by a committee of Muhammad Adly, Sayed Fouad and Hussam Abdel Hamid, the customs officials under the supervision of the movement’s director, Ahmed Nabil. The value of the seizures is estimated at about one million pounds.
Zakaria Hassaballah, Director General of Customs at Passenger Building No. 1 at Cairo International Airport, decided to take legal measures and write a customs report for the passenger No. 18 of 2022 and seize the seizures.
This comes in implementation of the instructions of Shahat Ghaturi, head of the Customs Authority, to tighten control over all airports and customs outlets, and to thwart all customs evasion attempts.
