Cairo hosts the meeting of the Higher Committee for the Integrative Industrial Partnership between Egypt, the UAE and Jordan
From 23-25 July, Cairo will host the meetings of the Higher Committee for the Integrative Industrial Partnership between Egypt, the UAE and Jordan, where the participating delegations are headed by the ministers of industry and trade in the three countries. The meeting of the Supreme Committee is scheduled to be preceded by the Executive Committee meetings on July 23 and 24, with the participation of the delegations of the three countries and companies participating in the initiative.
Nevin Gamea, Minister of Trade and Industry, said that the meeting of the Supreme Committee comes within the framework of the integrated industrial partnership initiative between Egypt, the UAE and Jordan, which aims to achieve sustainable economic development and enhance food and drug security through the localization of industry, expansion of agricultural and animal production projects and securing supply chains. Noting that the meetings will discuss agreement on a number of projects in several productive sectors, including agriculture, food, fertilizers and pharmaceutical industries. As well as strengthening economic and trade relations between brotherly countries.
The Minister indicated that the past period witnessed intensive meetings at the level of the Executive Committee with the aim of developing mechanisms for implementing the integrative partnership and supporting joint efforts to encourage private sector companies in the three countries to join the initiative. Noting that the first phase of the partnership targets a number of projects in the fields of grain production, animal production, processed food production, fertilizers, packaging, and the production of alternative medicines. In addition to the production of textiles, silica and aluminum smelting using renewable energy, The Executive Committee is also working on discussing the possibilities and incentives that help accelerate the pace of implementation of these projects.
Gamea noted that the partnership supports joint efforts to enhance the three countries’ needs for food and medicine in light of the current regional and global economic challenges. She pointed to the important role of the private sector in Egypt, the UAE and Jordan in implementing the targeted projects within the framework of the initiative, which contributes to integrating value chains and providing more job opportunities.
