The Australian Centamin Mining Company announced, in a disclosure to the Australian Stock Exchange published on the company’s website, that the reserves and resources of the Sukari gold mine in Egypt have increased by about 1.3 million ounces of gold, an increase of 33%, during the current year 2022.
The mine’s resources and reserves increased for the second year in a row. The measured and probable reserves are 11.11 million ounces at the level of 1.08 grams of gold per ton of rock, It is a measure of the purity of gold.
The company said, A deeper understanding of the geology of the concession has resulted in healthy growth in resources and reserves, The increase in reserves exceeded the level used during the year for the first time since 2015.
She added that the increase in mineral reserves by about 1.3 million ounces represents three times the increase in 2020. Noting that the total amount added during the last two years is about 2 million ounces.
