Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Health and Population, visited Saturday, Belbeis Central Hospital, Sharkia Governorate, To monitor the progress of work, And to determine the quality of medical services provided to citizens.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, said: The Minister stressed the importance of the hospital due to its geographical location and the capabilities it possesses. It serves 829,863 citizens within the city of Belbeis.

Abdul Ghaffar added that the minister inspected the various hospital buildings and departments, which operate with a capacity of 228 beds in internal departments, 37 intensive care beds, 19 ventilators, 24 nurseries, and 13 operating rooms. In the last period, the Reception and Emergency Department, with a clinical capacity of 16 beds, includes 2 rooms for emergency surgical operations, and the Minister also inspected the CT scan unit, with which the hospital was supported at a cost of more than 4 million pounds.

Abdul Ghaffar pointed out, That the Minister checked the development work that took place in the new intensive care unit for internal diseases, Which operates with a capacity of 21 beds, It is equipped with 8 respirators. He also checked the new Industrial Kidney Pavilion, Which is an addition to the total department with a capacity of 17 machines, Bringing the total number of dialysis machines in the hospital to 36.
Abdul Ghaffar confirmed. That the minister directed to raise the efficiency of outpatient clinics and intensive care departments, He also directed the continuous maintenance of the work of adaptations in the patient rooms in the internal departments. He was also keen to speak with patients and frequent visitors to the hospital to ensure their satisfaction with the services provided to them. He assured them of the ministry’s keenness to provide them with the best health care services.

And “Abdul Ghaffar” pointed that the minister reviewed the patients’ files, The average frequency of patients to different departments, The average number of patients received in the emergency departments is about 230 cases per day. The average frequency of outpatient clinics ranges from 750 to 900 cases per day. The average daily operations are from 15 to 20 operations in various medical specialties.

The Minister was accompanied during his visit by Dr. Anwar Ismail, Assistant Minister of Health for National Projects Affairs, Dr. Hazem El-Feel, Head of the Therapeutic Medicine Sector, and Dr. Hisham Masoud, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Sharkia Governorate. It is reported that Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Acting Minister of Health, is conducting an inspection tour, today, Saturday , in a number of governorates, where he began his visit by inspecting Al-Salam Hospital and Al-Salam Oncology Center in Cairo Governorate.
